A new browser hijacker in the form of a browser extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer has been detected to change users` home and new tab pages, experts claim. The browser hijacker has been associated with the highly suspicious and potentially hazardous search engine search(.)ividi(.)org and ividi(.)org. The search engine itself may not be a search engine at all. When checked the domain has caused several redirects to third-party websites and ESG security experts strongly advise users to immediately be rid of the suspicious software from their computer and scan it for malware.

This is believed to be a specific redirect service because it may allow the person, hosting the website, detect information about the user`s device without the user`s knowledge or consent.

After passing through several long URLs the website finally redirected to this web link, offering an free prize upon the completion of a survey:

This is what appears to be a Survey scam aiming for different user information. When this survey has been tested, the scam itself, instead of giving the free iphone 6s as promised, redirected to more `free money` type of web links.

ESG security experts also report that search(.)ividi(.)org may be a low quality search engine resembling Google. However, this is outlined as a risky domain and this is why in case your homepage has been changed recently and causes redirects starting with ividi(.)com domains, you should take immediate actions.
