Acecard is an Android Trojan that first landed the mobile malware scene back in 2014, when it was first detected. However, back then Acecard didn't really catch the attention of malware researchers. It was a simple looking sniffer, nothing special.

Today, Acecard appears to be one of the most dangerous Trojans ever created for the Android ecosystem. It distributes itself through smartly crafted phishing emails, and can represent itself as Adobe Flash for Android.

Acecard’s most recent version can compromise about 30 banks’ client applications and payment systems, definitely a number that is no longer neglected by the malware research community. Acecard can also overlay any application upon command, meaning that the number of targets can easily be bigger than 30.
