Freeware refers to copyrighted software, application and program that can be freely downloaded, installed, used and shared. Freeware programs are generally free to use for end users. However, there is a difference between freeware and free software. Free software allows for modifications of the source code with the purpose of republishing it or integrating it with other software.
Freeware Extended Definition: Generally speaking, freeware often refers to small software utilities that are free to use throughout their lifetime, as they are not set to expire. In most cases, freeware represents a limited version of paid software programs. It is common for software vendors to offer limited, free versions of software to their prospective customers. In addition, it is also common for large software vendors to publish vendors to establish a brand reputation.
