Zzip General Description

Zzip is compression software that is should work with the following files (taken from the official website):

7z (.7z), ZIP (.zip), GZIP (.gz), BZIP2 (.bz2) and TAR (.tar), RAR (.rar), CAB (.cab), ISO (.iso), ARJ (.arj), LZH (.lzh), CHM (.chm), Z (.Z), CPIO (.cpio), RPM (.rpm), DEB (.deb), NSIS (.nsis)

However, the program may be blocked by an AV program, if such program is available on the PC. When we attempted to download the application for research purposes, the following pop-up alert appeared:

z-zip-malware-detected-spyhunter

As visible by the image, the program is classified as potentially unwanted. It uses large amounts of system resources, even when not in use. In addition, Zzip is designed to start automatically with Windows.
The program may also be detected as suspicious. However, the detections may be regarded as false positives. The overall detection ratio of the program is low.

However, because of the system resources it employs, a strong AV program may still detect and flag Zzip as suspicious.

Zzip Uninstallation Steps

The program can be uninstalled from the Uninstall a Program feature. However, potentially unwanted programs often are distributed in bundled installers. To make sure that your system is not affected by unwanted code, consider running an AV scanner.

Since Zzip also offers a browser extension, you may need to check your browser’s settings. The extension is included in the program’s installer:
