JetMeta Ads Activity Report
JetMeta is a browser hijacker and shares some similarities to GoSportSearch, OfferCore and NewTab plus apps, in the sense that it may enter your computer by being bundled together with other third-party apps, like free media players, image editors and others. The outcome of this is that JetMeta could begin to change the settings of your web browsers with the primary goal to display ads of all types, such as:
- Third-party redirects.
- Ads, instead of search results.
- Highlighted text.
- Banner ads.
- Push pop-ups.
- Pop-up ads.
Then, the JetMeta software could begin to employ different types of trackers – cookies, tags, geo-locators, LSOs, pixels and other such small objects dropped on your computer to obtain information for advertising purposes. The data that could be gathered without your consent could be the following:
- Browsing history.
- Search history.
- Bookmarked sites.
- Pages you have visited.
- Your mouse movements and click history.
But this is not such a big deal when you compare it to the main problems that this software could be responsible for. Some of the ads it shows may lead to some dangerous websites, like:
- Fake software download.
- Redirect schemes.
- Frauds.
- Fake polls & surveys.
- Phishing sites.
- Viruses and other malware.
- Fake tech support.
This is the main reason why programs, like JetMeta are classified as indirectly risky for your computer and should be gotten rid of immediately.
