Or you may have downloaded it from its official website – note-up.com. Note-Up may also be available for download on freeware and shareware pages. No matter what your case is, you should be aware that security experts regard it as a PUP (potentially unwanted program).
Note-Up Application Description & Risk Level
Note-Up is advertised as a free event reminder. It is designed to easily set reminders for upcoming events and tasks. However, several AV programs detect the program as potentially unwanted. Some solutions may even discover Trojan components.
The primary executable file of Note-Up is Note-Up_Setup.exe. If you already have an AV program installed, chances are it will block the application and detect it as PUP:
Even though PUPs are not malicious, users often refer to them as viruses. Note-Up and similar apps can be ad-supported, and as such, can generate intrusive pop-up/ pop-under windows, banners, etc.
We do not know Your identity or make any efforts to reveal it, however, we may collect personal identifiable information (“PII”), such as Your name, address, email address, and telephone number, if You will voluntarily provide us such PII when You engage with the Services. If You choose to submit PII, You acknowledge and agree that we may use that information for general marketing purposes and to communicate with You by e-mail, postal mail, telephone and/or mobile devices about products or Software that may be of interest to You either from us, our parent or subsidiary companies. We also collect non-personally identifiable information (“NPII”), such as the number of page views, link clicks, and login times, for such purposes and according to methods, as further described below.
It is of no surprise that the developers of the app collect both PII and non-PII. Such information is typically harvested for marketing reasons. It can be sold to interested (affiliate) parties and used in aggressive marketing campaigns.

As visible by the screenshot, the software providers use several types of tracking technologies such as cookies, tags, beacons. Non-cookie technologies can also be employed. However, they are not specified and are simply called ‘alternative methods’. In addition, third parties the providers work with can use their own tracking devices in order to display targeted advertisements.
The Note-Up software doesn’t support any Do-Not-Track options configured in the browser.
