PowerfulBrowse – What Does It Do?

These apps may all use the same bundling method to enter your Mac. They may be slithered in the setups of other third-party software, where they may seem like a “free extra” that is optionally included to the current installation.

PowerfulBrowse may be resposnible for the following types of ads that may appear on your Mac after it modifies the settings of your web browser:

  • Pop-ups on your browser.
  • Redirections.

Not only does this app change the key options of your browser but it may also use trackers, like pixels, tags, cookies, geo-locators and others to identify the following information about your online browsing activity:

  • Last Pages you visited.
  • Your browsing history.
  • Your search history.
  • Where you click with your mouse.

But these are not the main problem that is related to PowerfulBrowse. The issue with such apps is they show unchecked and unverified sites on their ads and this is often how users get redirected to dangerous domains, for example:

  • Fake Tech Support.
  • Download of rogue and scammy software.
  • Fake websites made for phishing.
  • Scammer web oages.
  • Virus URL.
  • Endless redirect via long URLs.
  • Survey fraud.
