What Is QxSearch
QxSearch is the name of a web page that is likely related to a browser hijacker software. This web page’s main purpose is to get set as a default home and new tab page to your web browser. It may be caused by a so-called PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) that often gets installed without your knowledge or consent. These programs are often created in order to cause multiple different kinds of redirects and ads to begin appearing on your computer for profit. And since the creators of those apps do not care what kinds of ads it is they push on your machine, this is how you may end up being redirected to unwanted and even virus websites.
This is the primary reason to consider removing QxSearch from your computer and browser and reset your settings. Read this article to learn how to uninstall QxSearch effectively.

QxSearch – What Does It Do/strong>
QxSearch is classified by experts as a browser hijacking software. Its main purpose is to heavily modify your web browser to show you ads. This activity is very similar to other ad-supported applications we have recently seen, like NewTab, YoutubeDownloader and Search Monster redirects.
These applications often get in your computer by being automatically added to it as a result of them getting included as optional offers to the installations of other apps you may have recently installed. This is often freeware that is downloaded from third-party software download sites, where it may include bunded apps for profit.
Once QxSearch is added to your computer it may change some settings of your web browser and alter its home, new tab and other default pages, like the default search. The outcome of these settings changes is you could start to see the following kinds of ads being added:
- Search ads that are sponsored.
- Text ads.
- Pop-ups on your browser.
- Redirections to other sites.
- Push pop-up notifications.
When these ads start to appear, the QxSearch itself plus the sites advertised may use various trackers to get information from your web browser. Such trackers are:
- Geo-locator tracker.
- Cookie objects.
- Tag cookies.
- Flash cookies or LSOs.
These trackers’ primary goal is to obtain details and information on your browsing activity and you have no way of knowing what happens with this info. Such information can turn out to be:
- Which pages you visit.
- The websites you bookmark.
- History of your web browser.
- Where you click.
QxSearch may also lead you to several different dangerous websites. These websites may often include the following kinds:
- Fake websites.
- Scammer pages.
- Virus URLs.
- Fake tech support.
- Fake software downloads.
- Fraud surveys (phishing).
And since this app shows ads purely for profit, it may be indirectly risky for your device. This is why it is recommended to remove it as soon as possible.
