Did you install the emergency patches for Google Chrome that address two security vulnerabilities, one of which is exploited in the wild?
CVE-2022-1364 Exploited in the Wild
CVE-2022-1364 is a type confusion vulnerability in the V8 JavaScript engine reported by Clément Lecigne of Google’s Threat Analysis Group. The flaw has been rated as high in severity, and Google is aware of an exploit that exists in the wild. No additional information has been provided to describe the issue, to prevent hackers from weaponizing such details.
“Many of our security bugs are detected using AddressSanitizer, MemorySanitizer, UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer, Control Flow Integrity, libFuzzer, or AFL,” the company added in the announcement.
Last month, Google addressed another Chrome zero-day, exploited in the wild. Google said the update to address CVE-2022-0609 would be rolled out in the forthcoming weeks.
To install any update immediately, you can jump to Google Chrome menu, select Help, then About Google Chrome, and apply the update. Also note that your browser will check automatically for new updates and install them the next time you relaunch the browser.
