What Is HowToSimplified Toolbar?

HowToSimplified Toolbar is yet another browser extension that you do not want to have on your computer. This toolbar promises that it will provide users with help you find home improvement tips, DIY tutorials, money-saving suggestions, recipe ideas, etc. Right now you may think that the program is useful, but there is more to it. HowToSimplified Toolbar is classified as a browser hijacker. This means that once it has been installed, it will change the homepage and default search provider on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. After being installed, the program will immediately change the settings of your browser. Mywebsearch.com will be set as your default search provider and homepage. This search engine is not one that we recommend using. It is not as reliable as Google, Yahoo or Bing, for instance, and will display sponsored links. The toolbar will also start presenting pop-up and banner advertisements, and you can expect sudden redirects to unknown websites.

1. Remove/Uninstall HowToSimplified Toolbar in Windows

  • This will open a window with all the programs installed on the PC.
    Select the program that you want to remove, and press “Uninstall” (fig.3).

    Start Mozilla Firefox Open the menu window


    Select the “Add-ons” icon from the menu


    Select HowToSimplified Toolbar and click “Remove


    After HowToSimplified Toolbar is removed, restart Mozilla Firefox by closing it from the red “X” in the top right corner and start it again.

  • Move the cursor over “Tools” and then from the extended menu choose “Extensions

  • From the opened “Extensions” menu locate HowToSimplified Toolbar and click on the garbage bin icon on the right of it.

  • After HowToSimplified Toolbar is removed, restart Google Chrome by closing it from the red “X” in the top right corner and start it again.
  • Start Internet Explorer:

  • Click “‘Tools’ to open the drop menu and select ‘Manage Add-ons’

  • In the ‘Manage Add-ons’ window, make sure that in the first window ‘Add-on Types’, the drop menu ‘Show’ is on ‘All add-ons’

    Select HowToSimplified Toolbar to remove, and then click ‘Disable’. A pop-up window will appear to inform you that you are about to disable the selected toolbar, and some additional toolbars might be disabled as well. Leave all the boxes checked, and click ‘Disable’.


    After HowToSimplified Toolbar has been removed, restart Internet Explorer by closing it from the red ‘X’ in the top right corner and start it again.

    Start Safari

    Open the drop menu by clicking on the sprocket icon in the top right corner.

    From the drop menu select ‘Preferences’
    In the new window select ‘Extensions’
    Click once on HowToSimplified Toolbar
    Click ‘Uninstall’


    A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation to uninstall HowToSimplified Toolbar. Select ‘Uninstall’ again, and the HowToSimplified Toolbar will be removed.

    3. Use an advanced anti-malware program to scan your computer for any left-over objects such as registry entries and other files after uninstall.

    To clean your computer you must download an updated anti-malware program then install it. After that you should scan your computer to remove all HowToSimplified Toolbar associated and left-over objects.
