Offers4u – How Did I Get It?

One way the Offers4u adware distributes is typically done via third-party installers. You can get it on your computer without knowing, that the adware is hiding in freeware installations and bundled packages. They contain additional components for installation that are not always disclosed, and you can get tricked into installing PUPs such as Offers4u. Sometimes this can be avoided if you check the Advanced or Custom setting in an installation setup.

Another way is if you can get such PUPs onto your PC is if you visit suspicious sites, and you click on different advertisements, banners, and pop-ups that are displayed.

Offers4u is an adware. Once inside your computer, it begins generating pop-up messages, which may redirect you to sites, from which you can install software with potentially malicious content. It is stated in advertisements that visiting that page and getting the uninstaller will stop all Offers4u messages, but actually the page has malicious content on it.

The PUP is using cookies, and every time you are redirected to it or one of its probable affiliate sites, you can be tracked. That may allow for sensitive information to be stolen secretly from you. Step 1: Remove/Uninstall Offers4u in Windows

Here is a method in few easy steps to remove that program. No matter if you are using Windows 8, 7, Vista or XP, those steps will get the job done.     Step 2: Remove Offers4u from your browser

  • Move the cursor over “Tools” and then from the extended menu choose “Extensions

  • From the opened “Extensions” menu locate Offers4u and click on the garbage bin icon on the right of it.

  • After Offers4u is removed, restart Google Chrome by closing it from the red “X” in the top right corner and start it again.
  • Start Internet Explorer:

  • Click “‘Tools’ to open the drop menu and select ‘Manage Add-ons’

  • In the ‘Manage Add-ons’ window, make sure that in the first window ‘Add-on Types’, the drop menu ‘Show’ is on ‘All add-ons’

    Select Offers4u to remove, and then click ‘Disable’. A pop-up window will appear to inform you that you are about to disable the selected toolbar, and some additional toolbars might be disabled as well. Leave all the boxes checked, and click ‘Disable’.

    After Offers4u has been removed, restart Internet Explorer by closing it from the red ‘X’ in the top right corner and start it again.

    Start Safari

    Open the drop menu by clicking on the sprocket icon in the top right corner.

    From the drop menu select ‘Preferences’
    In the new window select ‘Extensions’
    Click once on Offers4u
    Click ‘Uninstall’

    A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation to uninstall Offers4u. Select ‘Uninstall’ again, and the Offers4u will be removed.
