YellowSend(.)com – Spread

YellowSend(.)com can be spread with various tactics. There is a direct download button on the site from where you can download this adware. The program might be spread with third-party installers. Without your awareness, the adware could be injected inside your computer with the third-party installers, from freeware and bundled packs. The install setups might be set to add extra content with the main installation. Avoiding any unwanted program from installing you have to search and find a Custom or an Advanced option menu inside the setup.

YellowSend(.)com could also be spread with advertisements displayed around dubious websites. Banners, pop-ups and pop-unders might be used to redirect to this service. If you visit sites with an unknown origin or other suspicious ones, the adware could be placed inside your computer machine. These sites could be hosting redirects, as well. Browsers that could be affected are the following: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari.

YellowSend(.)com – Description

YellowSend(.)com is the official domain for an online platform which offers file-sharing services. Its servers are slow, so the download function is almost entirely broken. As you can see from the screenshot here, a 2 MB file is too much for it and was downloaded for the entirety of two minutes:

STF-yellowsend-com-yellow-send-ads-download-file

The home page of the YellowSend(.)com domain has a direct download button, from where you can download the software related to the site. Do not do it, as that is not required to upload and download data, and the speed will not change just because of that.

Advertisements and redirects can appear when you surf the Web if you have any programs related to YellowSend on your computer. The program is a considered adware due to the ads it tries to push.

Here you can see the main page of the YellowSend(.)com site:

STF-yellowsend-com-yellow-send-ads-main-page

Adverts could have one of the following texts inside them:

  • Ads by YellowSend(.)com
  • Advertisement by YellowSend(.)com
  • Ad by YellowSend(.)com
  • Advert from YellowSend(.)com
  • Powered by YellowSend(.)com
  • Brought to you by YellowSend(.)com

In-text links and advertisements around other websites could be associated with the YellowSend service and spammed via redirects to increase its online traffic. That traffic can be made into revenue for the adware platform with a pay-per-click scheme.

The adverts which might show on sites can differ in type if other ad networks are involved with YellowSend(.)com. Advertisements connected to it can show up in the form of pop-ups, in-text links, pop-unders, banners, or interstitial ones. Other types are not excluded to pop up, too.

YellowSend(.)com – Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy of YellowSend is short and sweet and gives very detailed specifics about the information collected by this service. You can find it on the main domain of the site at YellowSend(.)com.

You can see an image of the Privacy Policy below:

STF-yellowsend-com-yellow-send-ads-privacy-policy

The policy collects certain types of information:

Identification data
  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Mobile number
  • Email address
Electronic identification data
  • IP addresses
  • Cookies
  • Tracking GUID files
  • Crash data
Banking and payment information
  • Credit card information
  • Account number

Additionally, the hijacker collects statistical data, which is technical and not personally identifying:

Information about your usage of and interaction with the YellowSend software on each PC of yours, including platform, device and connection information, device capability, processing time, UI usage, bandwidth, frame-per-second, statistics on page views, and traffic to and from our websites, browser type, usage statistics and the like.

Be careful if you used the platform and services tied to YellowSend as the adware collects all kinds of information without you witnessing that. Also, do not enter any personal or credential data and do not upload such sensitive files into this platform.
