MovieDea is free software that promises that it will help you look up movies online and watch trailers. To movie fanatics, this may seem like a useful program to have. However, it is highly advised that you do not have it on your computer. MovieDea has been identified as adware. This means that its purpose is actually to generate numerous advertisements. Such programs are not to be welcomed onto your computer. Not only are they annoying, but there is a chance that they will expose your PC to virtual threats. This is why it is best that you get rid of MovieDea right away.
Where Did MovieDea Come from?
It is very likely that you are surprised by the presence of MovieDea on your computer. This is because the program is able to get installed on computers without being noticed. This is achieved through bundling. If you are not familiar with the term, this is when one program is attached to the installer of another. If you opt for the default installation option both of them will be installed. This is why we recommend selecting the Advanced/Custom installation option. This will give you the chance to opt out of installing any additional software.
What Does MovieDea Do?
As it is classified as adware, MovieDea will start presenting ads after it has been installed. This is a browser extension that is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. So you can expect to see the ads on any of these browsers. The ads themselves will present with discounts and deals for the most part. What is more, the items that they are offering promotional prices for are very likely to be related to your recent browsing. MovieDea can collect any information stored on your browsing and use it to display relevant advertisements.
Why Should I Remove MovieDea?
The fact that the constant ads will be quite irritating is not the main reason why you should remove MovieDea. The bigger issue is that not all of the advertisements will be reliable. Some of them may actually take you to malicious websites. There, some scam may be attempted or your computer may become a target for malware attacks. These risks are not to be ignored and they are precisely the reason why you should get rid of MovieDea without further hesitation.
How to Remove MovieDea?
The good news is that MovieDea is not itself malicious. You should keep in mind that there may be more unwanted programs on your computer. Often there are more than two programs in bundled downloads. What is more, there may already be some malware on your computer. To remove all intruders with ease, it is best to install a reliable security tool on your PC. This will remove all unwanted software and it will protect your system against future attempts at infiltrating it.
