Padzer macOS Trojan – More Information

Padzer (Trojan.MacOS.Padzer) is the detection name of a Trojan horse that infects macOS. Malicious programs like Padzer Trojan aim to secretly invade Mac operating systems and then install additional malicious files. This behavior is typical for backdoor Trojans. As soon as it accesses a target device, the malicious software saves a few files on the drives.

The Trojan can afterward launch them without any notification. In another case scenario, the Trojan will be set to camouflage its activities by opening a PDF file, generating a fake system notification, or some kind of error message. By doing this the malware aims to distract the user’s attention while corrupting system settings.

Padzer may be secretly used for the installation of other Trojans and other malware programs. How the spread of threats like Padzer is realized is via spyware, third-party apps, fake software updates, and URL addresses to corrupted websites. The presence of such programs on a Mac may be extremely dangerous as they can enable hackers to install other malware on the system and take unauthorized remote control. Furthermore, attackers could misuse it for data theft.

The attackers could get details like:

  • RAM size
  • Logon title of the user.
  • Operating system version.

Furthermore, since there is a stable connection between hackers’ device and your infected Mac, they may attempt to perform risky actions including:

  • Receive or send files to a server that is remote.
  • Uninstall Padzer Backdoor.
  • Send an Apple occasion to initiate your Mac to sleep, restart, shut down and log out.
  • Open a bash shell command prompt.
  • Gather details about your computer.
  • Send a directory of currently-running processes.
  • Kill processes.
  • Run or delete files.

Beware that Padzer is a threat that is highly complicated and could barely be detected. We recommend making use of the help of advanced security tools for its complete removal. Otherwise, some elements installed by Padzer may remain on your Mac.
