DestinyScope.com – How Does It Spread?

DestinyScope.com usually spreads with third-party installations. Such installations put the adware onto your computer, through bundled packages and freeware installation setups, without your knowledge of that. These setups could be set by default to place more components than the base ones. To prevent unneeded components from installing can be managed if you find Custom or Advanced settings. There, you should be able to deselect components from the current install session.

As you see in the above image, DestinyScope.com is also spread through a browser extension, hosted on the Google Chrome Web Store. It may find itself on your PC if you visit websites which are dubious and have a bad reputation. If you have clicked on any advertisements, like banners or pop-ups there is a chance that you got the adware in this way. Browsers which could be affected are: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer and Safari.

DestinyScope.com – Detailed Information

DestinyScope.com is a platform with a site offering horoscope readings, seeing your future via tarot cards and other such shenanigans. Probably, that is just a disguise as the website’s main activity is to produce advertising content. That is why it is considered adware and the adverts can be seen on various websites around the Web. DestinyScope.com advertises style and fashion news, engaging puzzles and other things inside their ads, too.

On the below image, you can see the main page:

stf-destinyscope-com-destiny-scope-horoscope-main-site-page

In case you have any software, closely connected to DestinyScope.com, inside your browser applications or computer system, you will surely see more advertisements when browsing. DestinyScope can redirect you to many other websites, so if you find yourself on one, be careful with your interactions with it.

Adverts could contain the following texts in them:

  • Ads by DestinyScope.com
  • Advertisement by DestinyScope.com
  • Ad by DestinyScope.com
  • Advert from DestinyScope.com
  • Powered by DestinyScope.com
  • Brought to you by DestinyScope.com

DestinyScope might spread a lot of redirects among all of the advertisements. The main goal for those redirects is generating web traffic which is turned into revenue for the website owners by using a pay-per-click scheme. Redirects also lead to a sub-domain page with a horoscope:

All advertising content which is closely related to the adware can be of many types. Any advertisements which are related to DestinyScope.com are displayed online as pop-ups, pop-unders, text links, banners, interstitial, shopping or transitional adverts. Some of the adverts, like banners and pop-ups, might be showing targeted content based on your browsing habits.

DestinyScope.com – Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy of DestinyScope.com can be seen in the picture below this paragraph. The policy is thematic as it begins with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson – “Be silly, be honest, be kind”. The makers of the adware are truly honest with providing a detailed policy. There, it is clearly stated that personally and non-personally identifiable information can be acquired. Inside the Policy is also described that the DestinyScope.com website discloses information to third-party advertisement networks and advertisers. That information can be transferred as an asset if another company buys out the current one.
