HyperBrows is classified as an ad-supported browser extension. Such applications are also known as adware and generate the display of advertisements. Research indicates that HyperBrows is most probably compatible with popular browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, and even Safari. Ad-supported software is generally known to employ tracking/ session/ third-party cookies to the browser so that interested sites get hold of personally identifiable information (PII). Due to the privacy issue they may cause, ad-supported extensions may need to be removed completely.
PII consists of:
- Browsing habits – histories, search entries.
- Website credentials – login details.
- IP addresses – physical locations.
HyperBrows Description and Risk Evaluation

HyperBrows Distribution Method
HyperBrows may have been included in the package of a free product downloaded from the Internet. The method is dubbed bundling and may be avoided by opting for the advanced option prior to installing the app. HyperBrows may also be available on legitimate freeware websites. Even if the application’s description seems appealing to the user, he should reconsider downloading it due to its ad-supported characteristics.
