OffersWizard is an advertisement-supported program, created to save time and money while shopping online. The add-on delivers coupons, discounts and deals, as the user visits various product websites, such as Amazon. Despite the fact that OffersWizard is not a malicious application per se, the multiple annoying pop-ups, banners, and in-text advertisements it generates can eventually lead to potentially unsafe websites and compromise your computer’s safety.
Symptoms of OffersWizard:
- displays third party advertisements, such as pop-ups, banners, etc.
- may collect information about your browsing habits and online activities.
- may redirect you to unsafe web locations.
When it comes to the way it is distributed to the user’s computer, OffersWizard does not make an exception from most of the adware programs on the Web. Usually the browser extension sneaks into the user’s system along with freeware downloaded online. The problem is that the user might not pay attention to the installation process, and thus, unconsciously install various additional applications together with the program he actually needs. To avoid inadvertent installation of questionable programs, add-ons and applications, always make sure that you acquire the needed software from a reliable source. OffersWizard is similar to other adware programs like ShopBrain, PriceGong and SaveBox. These browser extensions guarantee to improve your browsing experience, but their main purpose is to generate traffic and pay-per-click revenue.
OffersWizard’s Removal From Your PC
In order to ensure your computer’s safety, it is recommended to avoid the installation of promoted browser extensions. Choosing the “Advanced” or “Custom” options usually reveal the presence of any bundled adware. In case you would like to uninstall an unwanted application from your PC, but you are not certain how to do this manually, it is best to use a legitimate anti-adware program.
Spy Hunter FREE scanner will only detect the threat. If you want the threat to be automatically removed, you need to purchase the full version of the malware tool.
