PaceItApp is an adware, also known as Ads by PaceItApp or PaceItApp Ads, compatible with Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. When installed, it starts displaying pop-up ads containing coupons, banners, and various sponsored links. Although its purpose is supposed to be increasing Internet speed, PaceItApp is classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). That is why its removal is advisable.
PaceItApp is developed by Virtue Interactive Ltd, an organization registered in the United Kingdom. The suspicious add-on turns up in your system because of bundled free downloads. Once the browser is breached by this application, it becomes invaded by unwanted content. Clicking any of the banners or pop-up windows lure users into visiting shady web sites that may infect their computers with malicious software.
What Is PaceItApp Doing in My Browser?
It’s most likely that users corrupt their machines with various adware through bundled downloads. Experts always warn us to be more careful when downloading free programs, and this is the reason. Applications of this sort may not be threatening by themselves, but they usually become a gateway to more trouble.
Is PaceItApp Dangerous?
As mentioned already, all the banners and pop-ups accompanying this app increase vulnerability levels. Not only you may become a victim of malware by clicking them, but you may also be monitored for marketing reasons. Furthermore, PaceItApp may document personally identifiable information, like IP addresses, search results, URLs of frequently visited websites, cookies and many more. So, on one hand your Internet privacy may be at stake, and on the other, your computer’s health.
