What is Solo.biz? How Did I Get It?

It is quite normal if you are looking for answers to these questions. Solo.biz is a strange website that tends to show up in popular web browsers unexpectedly. It is definitely not a site that users visit by their will. So probably that is your case too.

One of the explanations for this unexpected and sort of weird issue is that the Solo.biz pop-up ads are often propagated via adware and other potentially unwanted programs. Such unwanted software is often spread via being bundled to the installers of other programs. Undesired programs that trigger redirects to sites, like Solo.biz often pose as useful tools that are added “as optional offer” or “free extra” to your current installation. To prevent installing these extras you should open and follow the Advanced/Custom install option whenever you see it available in an installer.

Once added to your browser or system, the undesired program associated with Solo.biz may trigger a redirect to the website. When Solo.biz appears in the browser it attempts to convince you accepting push notifications:

Our research indicates that Solo.biz is part of shady advertising network that is pushing lots of variations of this website including:

  • Solo84.biz
  • Solo85.biz
  • Solo7.biz
  • 1solo.biz
  • 2solo.biz
  • 3solo.biz
  • 4solo.biz

Since the primary goal of these websites is to access popular browsers and start generating sponsored content, they often display pages with misleading information. This way they aim to make you more prone to allow push browser notifications.

Note that as long as you have an ad-supported software running on your PC or hidden extension added to your browser, the affected browser could be inundated with many other redirects and ads, like:

  • Pop-ups.
  • Banners.
  • Highlighted text ads.
  • Ad-supported search results.

These ads may not only lead you to bogus third-party sites but may also leave tracking cookies and other trackers on your computer in order to obtain different information like your browsing history, search history, and other data.

Furthermore, having such unwanted software may also result in forced visits to various dangerous sites, such as:

  • Phishing sites.
  • Scam pages.
  • Malicious URLs, that may infect you with malware.
