Windows updates should be as painless as possible. However, we’ve been seeing mostly awkwardness coming from latest Microsoft patches. The way Windows updates are installed on your machine seems to be more important than ever.
According to our poll ‘How do you install Windows Updates?’, in which 246 users participated, a prevalent number of people still leave things in the hands of Microsoft. In other words, the highest vote has gone to automatic updates.
91 voters believe that being informed about what gets installed on their machines is crucial. Thus, they always use the ‘Choose how updates get installed’ option and go through the detailed KB descriptions. Not that we’re tendentious, but… good job!
Eleven percent of our readers, or 27 voters, either has a sense of humor or is part of the approximate 250 million users still running XP. Lastly, 9% are OS X or Linux users.
