Convuster Mac PUP
Another way to define Convuster is a potentially unwanted application. As a PUP Convuster aims to land on Mac operating systems without informing users. This is possible via shady methods of distribution used by fraudsters.
Once such a method is called software bundling. For this method are used various supposedly useful applications. All those apps feature hidden “extras” in their installers. So you may install something you don’t want without noticing the process. And that’s how sometimes a click on the Finish install button results in the activation of an unnoticed undesired program. One way to prevent this side effect is to select the Custom or Advanced setup option whenever you see it available in the installer of a newly downloaded app. Once you reach the content in this step, you can find a way to spot some “extras” and skip their installation.
The moment Convuster adware obtains access to your Mac, it will modify some of the essential system and browser settings behind your back. Changes aim to enable the app to generate intrusive ads on the affected device. They affect the overall Mac security as well.
The generation of bogus ads helps the adware to generate revenue for its owners. However, ads generated by Convuster adware may be hazardous. Some of those ads may open corrupted websites. Such sites may host online scams, rogue applications, and even malware.
Ensure that your system is secure by removing the Convuster adware from your Mac as soon as possible.
