GoHD is a browser extension that is supposed to enhance the user’s browsing experience by providing him with a better quality while watching online videos. GoHD, however, is classified by experts as a PUP (potentially unwanted program) and adware, and its removal is recommended. The presence of the GoHD add-on on your PC is associated with the injection of intrusive online ads in the web pages you are currently viewing and poor browser performance.
How is GoHD Distributed?
GoHD is delivered via a typical adware distribution technique called bundling. The add-on can infiltrate on your computer alongside freeware programs you download online, such as media players, downloaders, program updates, etc. This distribution method is guite popular, so if you wish to control the programs and applications that enter your system, you need to pay more attention to the installation process. The Advanced installation options give you the opportunity to see all the additional extensions, add-ons and apps that are delivered together with the initially desired software, and opt out.
Experts recommend selecting your download sources carefully and not to open suspicious email attachments from unknown senders.
Once installed, GoHD generates a lot of online advertisements, like coupons, pop-ups, banners, price comparisons, etc. Not only are displayed ads annoying for the user but they can also expose the affected computer to different security issues if clicked on. Third parties often use adware programs to boost web traffic and to generate pay-per-click revenue. The ads displayed by GoHD may redirect the user to corrupted websites. GoHD does not assume responsibility for the content and privacy policies of the web pages it promotes. Clicking on each of the ads is something you do at your own risk.
