Travel Giga – Delivery

One way Travel Giga is delivered to your PC is via third-party installers. You can get it on your computer without knowing, that this adware is hiding in freeware installations and bundled packages. They contain additional components for installation that are not always disclosed properly, and you can get tricked into installing Travel Giga. Sometimes this can be avoided if you find Advanced or Custom settings in an installation setup.

Another way of this adware’s delivery to your computer is if you visit suspicious sites, and you click on different advertisements, banners, and pop-ups that are displayed. Also, you can download it from its official website at travelgiga(.)com.

Travel Giga – Details

Travel Giga is classified as an adware. When inside your computer, it attaches to your web browsers. Then it starts generating many different messages at each browser launch. The adware keeps showing advertisements, message boxes, pop-ups, banners. Some of them prompt you to download and install other adware or even malicious software masked as updates for the Adobe Flash Player, Java or others that are in reality, fake updates.

The Travel Giga adware also redirects you to suspicious sites, like ones with sponsored results, surveys, and such prompting you to do some action like clicking or installing things. If you install anything further, know that is most probably another sort of adware or something malicious.

Also, you may have a related browser extension causing some of the browser redirects, pop-ups and advertisements appearing, with a text such as:

  • Ads by Travel Giga
  • Ad by Travel Giga
  • Powered by Travel Giga
  • Brought to you by Travel Giga

Most of the redirects may be with the aim of generating revenue for its authors on a pay-per-click basis. Some of the redirects want you to download updates of a fake Adobe Flash Player. If you upload the file in the VirusTotal site you will get multiple detections by different anti-malware software:

The Travel Giga adware is using cookies, and every time you are redirected to any websites from it, you can be tracked. That may allow for sensitive information to be stolen secretly from you. Part of that data can be used to generate more advertisements and redirects for the same purposes described above.

The Privacy Policy of Travel Giga is stating that various information about you and your system may be collected – like personally identifying information:
