DealMan, also dubbed Ads by DealMan and DealMan Ads, is a typical adware application that may provoke the display of unwanted advertisements, offers, discounts, and price comparisons. Researchers suspect that DealMan is most likely compatible with popular browsers like Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome, and may alter their default settings. Even though the application is not considered dangerous, clicking the ads it displays may affect the PC’s performance.
Browser crashes are possible to happen, as well as harvesting of personally identifiable information.
DealMan Distribution Method
DealMan may have been included in the package of a free software product the user downloaded from the Web. The technique is known as bundling of software and may be avoided. When intending to install freeware/ shareware, users should always choose the custom installer. Thanks to the ‘advanced’ option users can deselect unwanted products that may compromise both their safety and privacy. Remember that bundling is applied for economic reasons. Through bundling developers monetize various platforms and cover financial losses.
As already mentioned, DealMan and similar applications are not malicious. However, they are known to:
- Employ session cookies and harvest private details (a.k.a. spyware component).
- Produce numerous pop-up/ pop-under ads, in-text ads, and banners.
- Turn random page texts into hyperlinks.
- Redirect users to attack’s pages where phishing is executed or malware is distributed.
- Worsen the browser’s performance and cause freezes and occasional crashes.
One way to rid the system of DealMan is with the help of the manual guide provided below. Another option is installing a powerful anti-adware solution to detect and delete all threats.
Keep in mind that the browser’s settings also need to be restored. In future, always choose the advanced installer to avoid any troubles.
