Kissanime Ads – How Did I Get It and What Does It Do?
There are a lot of Kissanime domains out there, but all of them generally appear like the following:
The Kissanime ads may come as redirects, usually to websites that are shady and offer fake games:
The end goal of those sites is for you to enter your information by registering for the game. Then, when the sites have you names, address and other data, they may also ask you to enter your credit card information – something that is highly dangerous and could lead to financial and personal information theft. Of course those sites are in no way related to the legitimte KissAnime site, but they may cause a lot of trouble for you.
Some of those sites may even cause advertisements to begin appearing on your computer. One Kissanime domain, asked us to allow Push Notifications:
These push notifications can show ads and pop-ups on the bottom right of your screen, even if your browser is minimized.
The advertisements that are displayed by Kissanime may be of different types:
- Push notifications.
- Browser redirects.
- Banners on the site itself.
They may lead you to different sites, some of which may be dangerous for you:
- Sites that are fake tech support pages.
- Sites that steal personal details.
- Domains that aim to cause redirects to malware-infested URLs and infect your computer.
- Web pages, that may pretend to be retailer sites, but only aim to steal money.
- Phishing sites, that aim to pretend to be Gmail, Facebook or other login pages only to obtain your password.
