Security researchers have classified CycloneCover as an ad-supported application that generates advertisements. CycloneCover may enter the system alongside other free apps through a method called software bundling. However, CycloneCover may also be promoted for download on various freeware pages. After it is installed successfully, the application may gather sensitive user information and then display relevant ads.
CycloneCover General Description
Many users may start witnessing intrusive advertisements that are brought by or sponsored by CycloneCover. The text of the ads may say ‘CycloneCover Ads’ or ‘Ads by CycloneCover’. Even though such ad-supported applications are not malicious, they may become a gateway to further PC troubles. If, for instance, the user clicks on the ads by CycloneCover, he may be redirected to a potentially threatening page employed for phishing. Suspicious websites may also encourage users into downloading .exe files that may seriously compromise the safety of their machines.
N.B. In most cases, adware such as CycloneCover is observed to apply persistent cookies to the browser and gather both sensitive and non-identifiable information from the user.
CycloneCover Distribution Technique
The program may have been downloaded automatically, alongside other free products. Added programs may be viewed under the advanced/ custom installer option, and unchecked from the download package. Regularly visiting P2P (Peer to Peer) communities and unsafe torrent websites may also result in downloading adware.
Clicking on random banners or pop-up windows luring users into installing suspicious software or giving away their personal information is also regarded as a probable distribution method.
CycloneCover Removal
Depending on how adware is designed, it may be removed manually or automatically. If the application has affected the Windows Registry, removing it ‘by hand’ may not do the trick. When adware is aggressive this way, running a full system scan to detect all of its components is advisory.
Spy Hunter scanner will only detect the threat. If you want the threat to be automatically removed, you need to purchase the full version of the anti-malware tool.Find Out More About SpyHunter Anti-Malware Tool / How to Uninstall SpyHunter
