Delete Searchzillions.com Browser Search

Searchzillions.com is a private search engine with suspicious origins that is believed to collect searches and other information and also considered by security experts a browser hijacker. Searchzillions presents itself as a regular search engine, however at this moment (of writing) it redirects all the searches to ‘Google Custom Search’. Beware when it comes to searchzillions because we have found that it has some shady Privacy policies that give it the access and possible distribution of PII(Personally Identifiable Information) to third parties.

What Does Searchzillions.com Do?

Searchzillions can install itself as a result of the fast clicking syndrome in most users when they install freeware downloaded from potentially unsafe websites, unfamiliar to them. Once in your PC, it begins to perform different activities on your PC, like:

  • Install tracking cookies that collect different non-personal and personal information for ‘software improvement’, according to its developers.
  • Gathering of search information and distributing it outside of your country of residence.
  • Redirecting its searches to Google.

Also, our research team have noticed unusual claims in their privacy policy:

Policy 2

Policy 1

Above, we notice that they provide information to third parties, such as cookies that could collect all types of info from the browser as far as we are concerned and, of course, your IP address. More so, we see on paragraph 2.1 that they claim that they do not abuse the information ‘except in the limited circumstances described’ in the very same policy. And what scared us is at the end of paragraph 2.1 when they state that ‘in the event of…’, they categorize the information as an asset. If you use your imagination, it is not hard to figure out how easy it is for those developers to ‘transfer’ your information.

Remove Searchzillions.com

As far as we can suggest, this believed-to-be browser hijacker by many may be collecting information and redistributing it to third party providers for the sole purpose of generating profits for its owners. If you feel that your information might be compromised, please refer to the steps, provided below to remove any threat to your PC. Also, in case you have no experience in removing hijackers and malware, you should download special software that is going to solve your problem swiftly.
