SupTab is a legitimate application that can be installed in the form of a plug-in for Internet Explorer. The browser helper object can be quite useful, though it may be considered a potentially unwanted program because it may interfere with your browsing experience, displaying various notifications about sales, deals, offers, coupons, etc.
What Is SupTab?
SupTab can be downloaded as a browser add-on, or it may land on your PC bundled with freeware or shareware. Although the plug-in itself does not pose any danger for your computer, the programs it may get installed with, might possess malicious features. One of these programs is Awesomehp.com, which is classified as a browser hijacker and as such, has the potential to expose your computer to various infections. Browser hijackers are known to interfere with your browser settings and are usually used to track information about the user’s browsing habits and may collect data for the purposes of targeted advertisement. In order to avoid any additional apps that may come bundled with freeware, you should always choose the advanced installation options and carefully read the fine-print messages.
Commonly, browser extensions are supported by third parties, and their main purpose is to generate traffic and revenue display sponsored links and banners. This is often one of the reasons users prefer to remove them shortly after they have been installed on their computers.
Should You Remove SupTab?
Off course, you may always choose to keep SupTab on your PC, in case you are enjoying the features of the add-on and there is nothing that bothers you. Provided you find that the disadvantages of SupTab outweigh its perks, we recommend you remove it with a proper anti-adware tool.
